The Mansion is a novel by the American author William Faulkner, written in 1959. It is the last in a trilogy of books about the fictional Snopes family of Mississippi, following The Hamlet and The Town. It charts the plotted downfall of Flem Snopes by his relative Mink Snopes in part aided by Flem's deaf, veteran daughter, Linda Snopes. Like the other works in Faulkner's Snopes trilogy, The Mansion deals with the South's displaced economic landscape after the end of the Civil War, rural populism, and racial and social tensions.
