Eugene Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts is the seminar-style, undergraduate, liberal arts college of The New School university. It is... located on-campus in New York City's Greenwich Village on West 11th Street off 6th Avenue. Eugene Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts was founded as the Freshman Year Program at The New School in 1972 as a pre-college program for high school graduates. Three years later, in 1975, the Freshman Year Program was expanded to a full undergraduate program and renamed The Seminar College. In 1985, following a generous donation by well-known philanthropist and educational visionary Eugene Lang and his wife Theresa, the school was renamed Eugene Lang College. The college currently has an enrollment of over 1,345 students. In 2005, the phrase "The New School" was inserted into the name of each division of The New School as part of a unification strategy initiated by the University's President Bob Kerrey; thus, Eugene Lang College was renamed Eugene Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts; students and faculty refer to it as "Lang.

The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music was founded by David Levy, a former dean of Parsons The New School for Design, and saxophonist Arnie Lawrence in 1986 as the Jazz & Contemporary Music Program. The school holds the philosophy that artists should be mentors, thus many teachers are working professionals. The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Jazz and Contemporary Music with concentrations in vocal and instrumental performance. The core curriculum includes courses in performance, analysis, composition, music history, and liberal arts. In addition, you can select or audition for a wide range of elective courses and narrow your focus as you advance toward graduation.

Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy a graduate school at The New School within The New School for Public Engagement... that has degrees in International Affairs, Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management, Nonprofit Management, Organizational Change Management, and Urban Policy, as well as a Ph.D. program in Public and Urban Policy and three post-master's certificates. In 1964, the J. M. Kaplan Center for New York City Affairs was founded as the first teaching and research center in the United States devoted to the study of a single metropolitan area. In 1975, under the leadership of Dean Henry Cohen, the Kaplan Center evolved into the Robert J. Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy , which was named in honor of the former New School trustee Robert J. Milano , who had also been a member of the advisory board of the J.M. Kaplan Center. Curriculum is structured to encourage creative thinking in aid of progressive social, economic, and political change in the public, private, and nonprofit arenas.

Peter Michael Falk was an American actor, best known for his role as Lt. Frank Columbo in the television series Columbo. He appeared in numerous... films such as The Princess Bride, The Great Race and Next, and television guest roles. He was nominated for an Academy Award twice , and won the Emmy Award on five occasions and the Golden Globe award once. Director William Friedkin, when discussing Falk's role in his 1978 film The Brink's Job, said that "Peter has a great range from comedy to drama. He could break your heart or he could make you laugh." In 1968, he starred with Gene Barry in a ninety-minute television pilot about a highly-skilled, laid-back detective. Columbo eventually became part of an anthology series titled The NBC Mystery Movie, along with McCloud and McMillan & Wife. The detective series stayed on NBC from 1971 to 1978, took a respite, and returned occasionally on ABC from 1989 to 2003. Falk was "everyone's favorite rumpled television detective", wrote historian David Fantle.

Tanaz Eshaghian is an Iranian-American documentary filmmaker. Eshaghian, who left Iran with her mother at age 6, grew up in New York, went to... Trinity School and graduated from Brown University in 1996 with a BA in Semiotics. For her début feature-length film "Be Like Others," a provocative look at men in Iran choosing to undergo sex change surgery, Eshaghian returned to Iran for the first time in 25 years. "Be Like Others", a BBC 2, France 5, ITVS production, premiered at the 2008 Sundance film festival and went on to win the Teddy special jury prize at the Berlin Film Festival as well as the ELSE Siegessaule Reader's Choice Award and was nominated for and Emmy award. It has been invited to over 30 film festivals worldwide and had its US television premiere on HBO in June 2009. Currently she finished a documentary film inside a women's prison in Kabul Afghanistan focusing on "moral crimes" for HBO. Her first film "I Call Myself Persian," completed in 2002, told the story of how Iranians living in the U.S. were affected by prejudice and xenophobia after 9/11.

Bradley Charles Cooper is an American film, theater, and television actor. He is known for his roles in the films The Hangover, The A-Team, Wedding... Crashers, and Limitless. In 2011, People magazine named Cooper "Sexiest Man Alive". Cooper was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and grew up in nearby Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. His mother, Gloria , is Italian-American, and his father, Charles J. Cooper, was Irish-American and worked as a stockbroker for Merrill Lynch. He has one sister named Holly. Cooper was raised Catholic. While attending Germantown Academy, Cooper worked at the Philadelphia Daily News. After graduating from Germantown Academy in 1993, he attended Villanova University for his freshman year, then transferred to Georgetown University, from which he graduated with an honors BA in English in 1997. Cooper became fluent in French at Georgetown and spent six months as an exchange student in Aix-en-Provence, France. Later, in 2000, he received an MFA in acting from Actors Studio Drama School at The New School in New York City.

Elaine Stritch is an American actress and vocalist. She has appeared in numerous stage plays and musicals, feature films, and many television... programs. She is known for her performance of "The Ladies Who Lunch" in Stephen Sondheim's 1970 musical Company, her 2001 one-woman show, Elaine Stritch at Liberty, and recently for her role as Jack Donaghy's mother Colleen on NBC's 30 Rock. She has been nominated for the Tony Award five times in various categories, and won once, for Elaine Stritch at Liberty. Stritch is also a three-time Emmy Award winner. Elaine Stritch was born in 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to Mildred , a homemaker, and George Joseph Stritch , an executive with B.F. Goodrich. Her family was wealthy and devoutly Roman Catholic. Stritch's father was of Irish descent and her mother was of Welsh descent. Samuel Cardinal Stritch, former Archbishop of Chicago, was one of her uncles. Stritch trained at the Dramatic Workshop of The New School in New York City under Erwin Piscator; other students at the Dramatic Workshop at this time included Marlon Brando and Bea Arthur. Stritch made her stage debut in 1944.
