The Place of the Lion

The Place of the Lion is a fantasy novel written by Charles Williams. The novel was first published in 1931. Platonic archetypes begin to appear throughout England, wreaking havoc and drawing to the surface the spiritual strengths and flaws of individual characters. Boucher and McComas described The Place of the Lion as "one of the most daringly conceived and stunningly visualized of all [Williams's] novels.".
