The Shark Mutiny is a novel written by Patrick Robinson and was published in 2001. Four years later the second edition was published with a new cover picture painted by Larry Rostant. The book is a sequel to USS Seawolf. The plot of "Shark Mutiny" involves both the efforts of the United States of America to contain Chinese expansion and a contest of wills on a United States Navy submarine, the USS Shark. Following a prolog set in 1987, The story begins in 2007, when an American intelligence officer learns that a large number of limpet mines have been produced and shipped by Russia. A merchant... ship later strikes one of the mines in the Persian Gulf, suggesting that Iran has mined it. Admiral Arnold Morgan, the National Security Advisor, deploys large numbers of warships to the Persian Gulf to deal with any outbreaks of violence and to make travel safe for civilian shipping. However, the Persian gulf blockade was a Chinese ploy to delocate the US Navy while The Peoples Republic of China invades and conquers Taiwan.
