The Silver Horde is a 1930 romantic drama film starring Joel McCrea, in his first leading role, as an Alaskan fisherman torn between two women, one good and the other bad . The title is a reference to salmon. It is the second film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Rex Beach. The first, also titled The Silver Horde, was released in 1920. In 1958, the film entered the public domain in the USA due to the copyright claimants failure to renew the copyright registration in the 28th year after publication.
