Game Overview

From scampering pooches to cuddly kittens, now you can add a new furry friend to your Sims' lives. Choose from popular dog and cat breeds like Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Persians, and Siamese or customize their appearance and personality to create a unique pet for your Sim to raise as one of the family. Your Sims will enjoy teaching their pets tricks, taking them to the park, caring for them, and outfitting them with new accessories. But keep one thing in mind Sims' pets have minds of their own, so be sure to expect the unexpected.

The Good

Improved AI offers a mostly authentic Sims experience on consoles, pets add an interesting new dimension to the game.

The Bad

Jarring load times constantly disrupt the game experience, pet management is difficult to schedule into a regular sim's day, limited neighborhood size and only one downtown lot.

The Bottom Line

For the first time ever, players can create pets for their Sims to love, train, play with and take to the park. Create-a-Pet allows players to mix, match and create the perfect dog or cat for their Sim. Labradoodle? Shnoodle? Puggle? Choose breeds and customize your pets. Put your pets to work in a variety of different careers including Show Business, Security and Service. Hang out in Central Park, the community center where you can interact with other Sims while shopping for various pets accessories. Play "doc" as your run the town Pet Care Center! Gain status based on your Sims pet care skills, from performing examinations to healing, playing and training.
