Fishkill is an upscale village within the much larger town, Town of Fishkill, one of the fastest growing towns in the region, in Dutchess County, New York, USA. The village population was 2,171 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown, NY Metropolitan... Statistical Area as well as the larger New York–Newark–Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA Combined Statistical Area. The Village of Fishkill is in the northeast part of the town on US 9. It is north of Interstate 84. NY 52 is the main street. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.9 square miles , all of it land. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,735 people, 965 households, and 400 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,978.8 people per square mile . There were 1,011 housing units at an average density of 443.6 /km² .
