Minyuan Stadium Tianjin, China. It is currently used mostly for football matches and hosted the home matches of Tianjin Teda F.C. until the TEDA... Football Stadium opened in 2004. The stadium holds 18,000 spectators. Eric Liddell helped build the stadium when he was a missionary in Tianjin, modelling it on Stamford Bridge of London, which was Liddell's favourite athletics venue.

Chen Daoming is a famous Chinese actor known for his flexibility and longevity. He has been branded the Emperor of Chinese drama, having starred in... all types of dramas and films. He was born in Tianjin, China, and is a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang. His first famous role was playing China's last Emperor Puyi in the Chinese series Emperor of the Last Generation . He is perhaps best known in the West with his role as the Emperor Qin Shi Huang in the blockbuster hit Hero. In addition to films, Chen is very famous on Mainland China with his many roles in Chinese TV series. He is known for his ability to adapt to his roles, from historical to present, from wealthy to poor, from good to evil. In 1982, Chen was married to Du Xian , a former China Central Television news program hostess, who was forced to resign due to her sympathy expressed during the reporting of Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 on June 4, 1989. Their daughter Chen Ge was born in 1985 and is studying in UK. Chen has only recently began commercial business in men's suits.

Yuen Wah is a Hong Kong based Chinese action film actor, action choreographer, stuntman and martial artist who has appeared in over 160 films and... over 20 television series. Born Yung Chi on 9 September 1950 in Hong Kong, Yuan attended the China Drama Academy, a Peking Opera School in Hong Kong in the late 1950s and 1960s. He was instructed by Master Yu Jim Yuen and became a member of the Seven Little Fortunes along with fellow students including Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao, Yuen Qiu and Corey Yuen. Like the other students, he took his sifu's given name – "Yuen". In his biography, Jackie Chan stated that Yuen Wah's martial arts ability was well respected among his fellow students. After leaving the opera school, many of the students entered the Hong Kong film industry. Yuen Wah was given an anglicised stagename, Sam Yuen, but like Yuen Biao , the name was not used. Rather than reverting back to their birth names, both retained their opera school names, as did several other former students.

Wu Ma , in Tianjin, China is a Chinese actor, director, producer and writer. Wu Ma made his screen debut in 1963, and with over 180 appearances to... his name , Wu Ma is one of the most familiar faces in the history of Hong Kong Cinema. He is best known as the Taoist ghosthunter in A Chinese Ghost Story. Wu was born Feng Hongyuan in Tianjin. At 16 he moved to Guangzhou and became a machinist before migrating to Hong Kong in 1960. In 1962, Wu enrolled in the Shaw Brothers acting course. Graduating a year later, he became a contract player for the studio and made his first appearance in Lady General Hua Mulan. He then appeared in such films as Temple Of The Red Lotus , The Knight Of Knights and Trail Of The Broken Blade . He took on the stage name 'Wu Ma' as it reflected the animal in the year of his birth , and believed it was short enough for audiences to remember.

Lazar Sitsky AM, usually referred to as Larry Sitsky, born 10 September 1934, is an Australian composer, pianist, and music educator and scholar. His... long term legacy is still to be assessed, but through his work to date he has made a significant contribution to the Australian music tradition. Larry Sitsky was born in Tianjin , China, of Russian-Jewish émigré parents. He demonstrated perfect pitch at an early age, by identifying notes or chords played in a different room. He studied piano from an early age, gave his first public concert at the age of nine, and started writing music soon thereafter. His family was forced to leave China during Mao's rule. They came to Australia in 1951 and settled in Sydney. He had sat for Cambridge University Overseas Matriculation before leaving China. His first studies at university were in engineering, at his parents' insistence. This was not successful and "he convinced his parents to allow him to pursue his passion, music".

Michiyo Okusu is a Chinese-born Japanese actress. She has been nominated for 4 Japanese Academy Awards, and won the 1981 Outstanding Performance by... an Actress in a Supporting Role prize for her performance in Zigeunerweisen. She began her career as a film ingenue using the stage name Michiyo Yasuda, under which she scored major early successes with films such as "Chijin no Ai" and numerous love stories and "samurai" period piece dramas.

Sari Maritza was an actress in British films of the early 1930s. Born Dora Patricia Detring-Nathan in Tianjin, China, Maritza was the daughter of a... wealthy industrialist and his Viennese wife. Her stage name was taken from the titles of two then famous European operettas: 'Sari' and 'Countess Maritza'. She entered films in 1930 and gained some notoriety for dancing a tango with Charles Chaplin at the premiere for his film City Lights in 1931. Although her behaviour was described as lurid, which was silly publicity, she attracted attention and was cast in several low budget, but relatively popular British films. She made the film Monte Carlo Madness in Germany in 1932 before travelling to Hollywood, but her few films there for Paramount Studios were poorly received. In America she was portrayed as an exotic European vamp with emphasis placed on her mother's Austrian heritage, but Maritza had lived most of her life in England, and disapproved of the studio's attempts to create a more mysterious facade for her.
