Game Overview

The heralded Rainbow Six series has returned and this time players take the action to Sin City with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas. You and your four man fireteam must infiltrate hotels and casinos in order to stop an evil terrorist force. The action doesn’t stop there as Rainbow Six: Vegas also features online multiplayer and cooperative play that allows two players to play through the entire campaign side-by-side. For a slower, more methodical first-person shooter, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas is the answer.

The Good

Impressive tactical action that requires the realistic use of cover, Fast rope out of helicopters, rappel down buildings, and smash through windows like a real commando, Beautiful visuals that let you battle in a glittering first-world setting, Incredible amount of multiplayer content with a wide range of cooperative and competitive games.

The Bad

Sixaxis motion controls feel tacked on and annoying, Story features some standard plot devices and lacks a satisfying ending.

The Bottom Line

The stakes are high when the world's most elite counter-terrorism unit enters Las Vegas, where over 36.7 million men, women and children visit each year. "Sin City," the home of the famous Las Vegas Strip, flashy hotels, high-rolling casinos and world-famous celebrities, becomes the setting for a terrorist threat of global proportions. What happens when one of the world's most famous cities is held hostage by terrorists?

While the SIXAXIS implementation is okay, it feels like it was put into the game simply to be able to say it was put into the game. The rest of the interface is solid, and the learning curve to learn the control scheme is small with this title.

The series' strength has always been its online play, but Vegas manages to bring an engaging single-player experience to the table as well. With a total of 20 multiplayer maps, the ability to play through the whole game cooperatively online, terrorist hun
