Thomas Kennerly "Tom" Wolfe, Jr. is a best-selling American author and journalist. He is one of the founders of the New Journalism movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Wolfe was born in Richmond, Virginia, the son of Louise , a landscape designer, and Thomas Kennerly Wolfe, Sr., an agronomist. Wolfe was student council president, editor of the school newspaper and a star baseball player at St. Christopher's School, an Episcopalian all-boys school in Richmond, Virginia.
