The Ilium Building is located at the northeast corner of Fulton and Fourth in Troy, New York, United States. It was listed on the National Register... of Historic Places in 1970, and since 1986 has also been a contributing property to the Central Troy Historic District. It is a five-story, seven-by-four-bay structure of buff-colored brick with decorative stone and terra cotta trim with a flat roof and stone cornice. It was designed by local architect Marcus F. Cummings and built in 1904 by the Ilium Realty Company. Today it remains one of the landmarks of downtown Troy.

The National State Bank Building is located on River Street in Troy, New York, United States, at its junction with Fulton and Third streets. It was... listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, one of the earliest buildings in the city so recognized. Since 1986 it has been a contributing property to the Central Troy Historic District. It was built in 1904, on the site of a public market that had burned down the year before, by local architect Marcus F. Cummings in the Beaux Arts architectural style. Five stories high, three bays wide by nine deep, its fenestration is similar to the larger Ilium Building a block to the east. The first story is faced in rusticated stone, the second through fifth in light gold brick with stone and terra cotta trim, and with carved stone panels beneath the third and fourth floor windows. These three distinct zones, along with the building's steel frame construction and use of an elevator inside, show the influence of early skyscraper design.

Proctor's Theater is located on Fourth Street in Troy, New York, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979,... and is a contributing property to the Central Troy Historic District, added to the Register in 1986. It was built in 1914 for vaudeville performances by Capital District entrepreneur Frederick F. Proctor, who also built another theater with his name in nearby Schenectady. Its double-balcony auditorium made it easily adaptable for showing motion pictures when that entertainment came into fashion soon after it opened. In the late 1970s it closed. Since then it has been through several owners, including Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute , which have had various plans, including renovating it into office space or reusing it as a theater. None have yet come to fruition, and it currently remains unused in any capacity. The theater is part of a row of buildings along the east side of Fourth Street. It is five stories high, with a highly decorative front facade of brick and marble covered in glazed terra-cotta. On the ground level, rusticated columns rise up to lion's heads.

The Kate Mullany House was the home of Kate Mullany , an early female labor leader who started the all-women Collar Laundry Union in Troy, New York... in February 1864. It was one of the first women's unions that lasted longer than the resolution of a specific issue. The house was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1998. It is now a National Historic Site. It is located at 350 8th Street in Troy, just off NY 7 two blocks east of the Collar City Bridge. Then First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton toured the house in 2000, and named it as a "treasure". Senator Daniel P. Moynihan had introduced a bill to designate the home as a National Historic Site, but the bill had languished in the United States Senate. Senator Clinton took up the bill in January 2001 when Moynhian retired, and she advocated for the home. There were hearings on the bill, and the Congressional Budget Office undertook an official budget analysis for the United States Congress. The bill was co-sponsored by Senator Clinton and Representative Mike McNulty, supported by organized labor, and passed both houses of Congress.

The sixth of seven children, Wong was... born in Troy, New York; the son of Chinese American restaurateur William Wong and an American artist of Dutch and French descent, Connie Van Yserloo. His family moved to Albany when he was a baby, where his father ran a restaurant. When Wong was seven years of age, his parents divorced, and he moved with his mother to California, settling near Yosemite. In 1981, Wong graduated from Mariposa County High School, and that fall enrolled at Santa Monica City College. Wong supported himself as a photographer and as a dancer before scoring his first screen roles in 1985, appearing in a Hong Kong musical called Ge wu sheng ping and in a screen adaptation of James Clavell's best-seller Tai-Pan.

An only child, Fuller was born Buddy Lee in Troy, New York, to Betty Simpson, a dance instructor. Prior to Lee's birth, Simpson married Robert Simpson, Sr., a Naval Academy officer. The family moved to Key West, Florida, where Lee took the name of his parents, becoming Robert Simpson, Jr.. The early highlights of Simpson's life were acting and dancing , and after graduating from the Miami Military Academy in 1952, he traveled to Hollywood with his family, where Fuller's first job was a stunt man. He also worked at the prestigious Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Upon establishing his acting career, he changed his name to "Robert Fuller." Fuller's first small role was 1952's Above and Beyond.

Michael Fitzgerald Wong is a Chinese-American and a Hong Kong based actor, director, singer and producer. He is fluent in English, but not so in... As of 2004, he has appeared in over fifty films in twenty-one years, often in very minor roles. Michael Wong grew up in Troy, New York, the son of restaurateur Will Wong and American artist of Dutch and French descent, Connie Van Yserloo. After finishing high school, he left for Hong Kong to try his luck at acting. His brothers Russell Wong and Declan Wong would also become actors in the Hong Kong film industry. There were a number of significant factors working against Wong's eventual success in the Hong Kong film industry including an inability to speak Cantonese, no formal training in acting and no background in martial arts. He also lacked an entry into the tightly knit Hong Kong film industry.

Tim Hauser is an accomplished singer who is a founder and member of the vocal group The Manhattan Transfer. He was born in Troy, New York. Hauser,... his sister Fayette, and their parents moved to the Jersey Shore when he was seven years old. He lived in Ocean Township, New Jersey and Asbury Park, New Jersey, and attended St. Rose High School in Belmar, New Jersey where an award in his name has been given every year since 1989 to students who excel in Theater Arts. He began to sing professionally at age 15 while living in Asbury Park, when he founded a doo wop vocal quintet called The Criterions. They recorded two singles for the Cecilia Label; I Remain Truly Yours, and Don't Say Goodbye. The Criterions appeared on Alan Freed's Big Beat Show. He developed his producing skills at an early age. In 1959, he entered Villanova University. His college years were a continuation of the musical involvement he had started to develop, with Hauser spending much of his college time energetically expanding his musical interests. Hauser, along with fellow Criterions members Tommy West, and Jim Ruf performed as the Troubadours Three, singing folk music.

Carlyle Blackwell was an American silent film actor and a minor director and producer. Born in Troy, Pennsylvania, he made his film debut in the... 1910 Vitagraph Studios production of Uncle Tom's Cabin directed by J. Stuart Blackton. Between then and 1930, when talkies ended his acting career, he appeared in more than 180 films. For his contribution to the motion picture industry, Blackwell has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6340 Hollywood Boulevard. After his final film in 1930, Blackwell turned to performing on stage in live theatre. Carlyle Blackwell died in Miami, Florida in 1955, aged 71. He was married three times, first to actress Ruth Hartman, mother of his daughter and son. Divorced from Hartman for desertion in 1923, in 1926 he married second wife Leah Barnato, known as the " Queen of Diamonds". She was the daughter of a South African diamond millionaire and sister of Woolf Barnato. His third wife was former Ziegfield girl Avonne Taylor, whom he met on a transatlantic crossing and married in 1933 after divorcing Leah Blackwell in 1932.

She was educated at the Convent of St. Anne in Montreal and trained for acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Her younger sister was theater actress Florence Nash. She was a noted stage actress in New York and successful in vaudeville before moving to Hollywood in 1934, where she was in films until 1946. According to Allmovie: "Nash was often cast as seemingly mild-mannered women who turned vicious when challenged, as witness her work in College Scandal and Charlie Chan in Panama . Mary Nash's most sympathetic role was as the long-suffering wife of blustering capitalist J. B. Ball in Easy Living ." Nash probably is best known for two films where she acted alongside Shirley Temple, first as Fraulein Rottenmeier in Heidi and then as the selfish and authoritarian Miss Minchin in The Little Princess .

William Worthington was an American silent film actor and director. William became interested in the performing arts when he began his career as an... opera singer and stage actor. He entered films with a lead role in 1913, and one of his most notable films was Damon and Pythias in 1914. From 1917 to 1925, William concentrated on directing films and was the head of a film production firm called Multicolor, which was bought by Cinecolor in 1932. He was active in films up until his death in 1941.
