Tyler Lee Hoechlin is an American actor who got his big break starring as Tom Hanks' son in the film Road to Perdition . For television, he is best known for playing the role of Martin Brewer on 7th Heaven and the role of Derek Hale on the MTV series Teen Wolf. Hoechlin was born in Corona, California, to Lori and Don Hoechlin. Hoechlin began playing baseball at the age of seven.
