Universiti Tun Abdul Razak was established on 18 December 1997 as one of the first private universities in Malaysia. The University was named after Malaysia's second Prime Minister, the late YAB Tun Abdul Razak bin Dato' Hussein, and officially launched on 21 December 1998 by Tun Abdul Razak's eldest son, YAB Dato' Seri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, current Prime Minister of Malaysia and then Minister of Education. On 1 March 2007, Tun Abdul Razak Education Foundation acquired Universiti Tun Abdul Razak Sdn. Bhd. from KUB Malaysia Berhad. Since its inception, UNIRAZAK was among the... first few private learning institutions in Malaysia to receive the SIRIM certification of ISO 9001:2000. Additionally, the University has been awarded the Multimedia Super Corridor status. As of 23 October 2011, UNIRAZAK has graduated more than 14,000 alumni and has than 10,000 students studying in 56 academic programmes at the diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
