John Allen "Hawg" Hannah is a former American football left guard who played for the New England Patriots in the National Football League. He was... elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1991, and Sports Illustrated dubbed him, on its August 3, 1981, cover, "The Best Offensive Lineman of All Time." John Hannah was born in Canton, Georgia, the son of an NFL player, Herbert Hannah, an offensive lineman for the University of Alabama who played a year at tackle for the New York Giants in 1951. Hannah was raised in Albertville, Alabama, and excelled at football, wrestling and track at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He won an individual national championship in wrestling at the National Prep Championship in 1967. However, Hannah played his senior season of high school football at Albertville High School, where he graduated in 1969. Hannah played tackle and guard for the University of Alabama under Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant from 1970 until 1972, and earned All American honors twice, in 1971 and then was a Consensus All American his senior year in 1972. During his tenure Hannah was part of an SEC championship-winning team.

Edward Osborne Wilson is an American biologist, researcher , theorist , naturalist and author. His biological specialty is myrmecology, the study... of ants. Wilson is a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction. He is known for his scientific career, his role as "the father of sociobiology", his environmental advocacy, and his secular-humanist and deist ideas pertaining to religious and ethical matters. As of 2007, he is Pellegrino University Research Professor in Entomology for the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard University and a Fellow of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry. He is a Humanist Laureate of the International Academy of Humanism. Wilson was born in Birmingham, Alabama. According to his autobiography Naturalist, he grew up mostly around Washington, D.C. and in the countryside around Mobile, Alabama. From an early age, he was interested in natural history. His parents, Edward and Inez Wilson, divorced when he was seven. In that same year, he blinded himself in one eye in a fishing accident.
