Anne Holt is a Norwegian author and lawyer. She was born in Larvik, grew up in Lillestrøm and Tromsø, and moved to Oslo in 1978 where she... lives today with her registered partner Anne Christine Kjær and their daughter Iohanne. Holt graduated with a law degree from the University of Bergen in 1986, and worked for The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation in the period 1984 to 1988. She then worked at the Oslo Police Department for two years, earning her right to practice as a lawyer in Norway. In 1990 she returned to NRK, where she worked one year as a journalist and anchor woman for the news program Dagsrevyen. Anne Holt started her own law practice in 1994, and served as Minister of Justice in Cabinet Jagland for a short period from November 25, 1996 to February 4, 1997. She resigned for health reasons, and was replaced by Gerd-Liv Valla. In 1993 she made her debut as a novelist with the crime novel Blind gudinne, featuring the lesbian police officer Hanne Wilhelmsen. The two novels Løvens gap and Uten ekko are co-authored with her former state secretary Berit Reiss-Andersen.

Kjartan Fløgstad is a Norwegian author. Fløgstad studied literature and linguistics at the University of Bergen. Subsequently he worked... for a period as an industrial worker and as a sailor before he debuted as a poet with his collection of poems titled Valfart in 1968. He received the Nordic Council's Literature Prize for his 1977 novel Dalen Portland . Other major works include Fyr og flamme , Kron og mynt, Grand Manila and Grense Jakobselv. Fløgstad initial prose work, Den hemmelege jubel , was published in 1970. In 1972 he published the short story collection Fangliner , where he encourages seaman and shift workers in heavy industry to make themselves heard in their own language, and the author's Marxist viewpoint became apparent. In the 1970s he also wrote two crime novels using the two pseudonyms K. Villun and K. Villum. His major breakthrough came in 1977 with the novel Dalen Portland ; which was awarded the Nordic Council's Literature Prize. Following this, Fyr og flamme in 1980 and Det 7.

Gunnhild Øyehaug is a Norwegian poet, writer and lecturer. She made her literary debut in 1998 with a collection of poems "Slaven av... blåbæret" . Her second book, "Knutar" , a collection of short stories, proved very popular in 2004 and was nominated for the Brage Prize of the Norwegian Publisher’s Association. Øyehaug took her M.A. in Comparative Literature at the University of Bergen. She has been co-editor of "Vagant", the leading literary journal in Norway, and literary critic for the newspapers "Morgenbladet" and »Klassekampen«. She has taught literary theory at University of Bergen and has also worked to promote literature in various ways. She now also co-edits the literary journal "Kraftsentrum.

Karl Ove Knausgård is a Norwegian author, especially known for his six autobiographical books, Min Kamp. Born in Oslo, Knausgård was... raised on Tromøya in Arendal and in Kristiansand, and studied arts and literature at the University of Bergen. He made his publishing debut in 1998 with the novel Out of the World, for which he was awarded the Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature. This was the first time ever a debutant had won this prize. His second novel, "A Time for Everything" , won a number of awards, and was nominated for the Nordic Council's Literature Prize, which is often considered the most prestigious literary award in the Nordic countries, as well as the IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. It has been called a "strange, uneven, and marvelous book" by the New York Review of Books.. Knausgård was also involved as a consultant in the new Norwegian translation of The Bible. In 2009, he won the Brage Prize for My Struggle - First Book, the first volume of a total of six autobiographical novels, which were published in 2009, 2010, and 2011.

Knut Kjeldstadli is a Norwegian historian. He took his doctorate in 1989 with the paper Jerntid. Fabrikksystem og arbeidere ved Christiania... Spigerverk og Kværner Brug fra om lag 1890 til 1940. He became adjunct professor at the University of Bergen in 1992, and then professor at the University of Oslo in 1996. He is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. Kjeldstadli is also involved in politics, in the Socialist Left Party as well as ATTAC. Kjeldstadli was awarded the Brage Prize in 2003 for serving as editor of Norsk innvandringshistorie. He was the son of historian Sverre Kjeldstadli, paternal grandson of trade unionist Lars Kjeldstadli, maternal grandson of editor Daniel Grini and grandnephew of politician Sigvart Grini.
