The Daniels College of Business is one of twelve graduate programs at the University of Denver. Founded in 1908, the Daniels College of Business is... the eighth oldest business school in the United States. Daniels is a top-ranked American business school and currently enrolls approximately 3,380 students, divided between graduate and undergraduate programs. Daniels is the eighth oldest collegiate business school in the country, and has been continuously accredited by AACSB International since 1923. It was established in 1908 as the School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance at the University of Denver, the oldest private university in the Rocky Mountain Region, founded in 1864. Its name was changed to the College of Business Administration in 1946 and then again in 1994 to the Daniels College of Business. Classes were first held in downtown Denver in the Haish Building and, after moving several times, the Daniels College of Business Building opened in 1999. In 1989, Bill Daniels, cable television pioneer and Denver entrepreneur, presented the University of Denver with a challenge grant to update the graduate business curriculum.

The Women's College of the University of Denver, more commonly known as The Women's College or TWC, is one of two non-traditional undergraduate... colleges of the University of Denver , located in Denver, Colorado. As indicated by the name, the college has a women-only admissions policy. It is the only women's college in the Rocky Mountains region of the United States. The Women's College was founded in 1982, following the acquisition of Colorado Women's College by the University of Denver. The college was conceived as a place for working adult women to pursue higher education on a schedule centered on their special needs. Rather than offering daytime courses, TWC has operated since its founding on a schedule that includes primarily evening and weekend classes. The college was originally housed at the former home of the Colorado Women's College. In 1999, the campus was purchased by Johnson & Wales University; TWC moved to the main University of Denver campus in 2001. The permanent home for the college is the Merle Catherine Chambers Center for the Advancement of Women, which is also available to other women's organizations at DU.

The Women’s College is one of eight undergraduate colleges at the University of Denver and the Rocky Mountain Region’s only... all-women’s college. It was formerly the Colorado Women’s College before merging with the University of Denver in 1982. The University of Denver is the Rocky Mountain Region’s premiere educational institution with a strong reputation for quality, innovation and scholarship. DU offers the benefits of a small, private college and the access and resources of a large research institution. The Colorado Women’s College was founded in 1888 and opened its doors to its first students as a two-year college in 1909, with enrollment at 59 students its first year. Over the next ten years it changed into a four-year institution, and offered both BS and BA degrees. The 1920s and the 1930s brought change to the campus as two more buildings, the Foote and Porter Halls, were constructed. Meanwhile, the Colorado Women’s College once again became a two-year institution. In 1932, the college received accreditation by the North Central Association.

John Edward Williams was an American author, editor and professor. He was best known for his novels Stoner and Augustus . The latter won a U.S.... National Book Award. Williams was raised in northeast Texas. His grandparents were farmers; his stepfather was a janitor in a post office. Despite a talent for writing and acting, Williams flunked out of a local junior college after his first year. He worked with newspapers and radio stations in the Southwest for a year, then reluctantly joined the war effort by enlisting in the United States Army Air Forces early in 1942, spending two and a half years as a sergeant in India and Burma. During his enlistment, he wrote a draft of his first novel, which was published in 1948. At the end of the war Williams moved to Denver, Colorado and enrolled in the University of Denver, receiving Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. During his time at University of Denver his first two books were published, Nothing But the Night , a novel depicting the terror and waywardness resulting from an early traumatic experience, and The Broken Landscape , a collection of poetry.

Alexander C. Irvine is an American fantasist and science fiction writer. Many of his works have appeared under the simpler moniker "Alex Irvine."... Irvine was born on March 22, 1969. Irvine first gained attention with his Locus Award-winning 2002 novel A Scattering of Jades and the stories that would form the 2003 collection Unintended Consequences. He has also published the Grail Quest novel One King, One Soldier , and the World War II-era historical fantasy The Narrows . Buyout, a novel set in 2041, was published by Random House in 2009. In addition to his original works, Irvine has published Have Robot, Will Travel , a novel set in Isaac Asimov's positronic robot milieu; and Batman: Inferno , about the DC Comics superhero. His novel The Ultimates: Against All Enemies, about the Marvel Comics superhero team was published by Pocket Books in September 2007. He also wrote the Vertigo Encyclopedia. As well as writing about comics he has written a number of comic book series, including one featuring Daimon Hellstrom for the Marvel Comics imprint MAX and Daredevil Noir. Condoleezza Rice is an American political scientist and diplomat. She served as the 66th United States Secretary of State, and was the second person... to hold that office in the administration of President George W. Bush. Rice was the first female African-American secretary of state, as well as the second African American , and the second woman . Rice was President Bush's National Security Advisor during his first term, making her the first woman to serve in that position. Before joining the Bush administration, she was a professor of political science at Stanford University where she served as Provost from 1993 to 1999. Rice also served on the National Security Council as the Soviet and East European Affairs Advisor to President George H.W. Bush during the dissolution of the Soviet Union and German reunification. Following her confirmation as Secretary of State, Rice pioneered the policy of Transformational Diplomacy, with a focus on democracy in the Greater Middle East.
