The Australian School of Business is a research institution for business in Australia and the Asia-Pacific. It is a constituent body of the... University of New South Wales and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees along with MBA and Executive programs. The school has over 8,000 students, divided into 4,500 undergraduate students, 3,500 postgraduate students and 250 PhD and Honours students. The school has 220 full-time academics and researchers, as well as 192 professional and technical staff. In November 2006, the Australian Graduate School of Management was merged with the Faculty of Commerce and Economics to form the Faculty of Business. In mid-2007 the Faculty was rebranded The Australian School of Business and by September 2007 had relocated into the newly renovated Australian School of Business Building . The Faculty offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees along with the AGSM MBA and AGSM Executive Programs. For 2010 the ASB was ranked 36th internationally, and 1st in Australia, and 35th in the world, in the Financial Times 2010 Global MBA list.

The University of New South Wales Asia was the first international university campus for the University of New South Wales in Singapore which opened... on 12 March 2007. UNSW Asia was the first foreign university, fifth university and the third to be privately funded and operated after the Singapore Management University and SIM University . On 23 May 2007, UNSW Asia Singapore campus announced its planned closure on 28 June 2007, at the end of the first semester due to financial issues and lower than expected student numbers. As a result of the sudden closure, rifts within the UNSW management were publicised, and accusations were exchanged between the University and the Economic Development Board. Questions were raised over the Economic Development Board's role in bringing in potentially over-ambitious business plans. The Singapore government's total loans to the university amounting to S$32 million was also revealed. The University is expected to repay all loans, and will have to restore the land for its campus to its original state, potentially incurring further costs. UNSW announced its closure on 23 May 2007.

The Faculty of Science is a constituent body of the University of New South Wales , Australia. It is the UNSW's second largest Faculty . It has... almost 400 academic staff, of whom 160-plus are designated research only. It has a constant cohort of about 520 research students , of whom about 450 are studying at PhD level. The Faculty consists of nine Schools: Its other resources include primary partnership in the UNSW Analytical Centre , field research stations at Cowan, Smiths Lake, Wellington and Fowlers Gap, and it is a partner in the Sydney Institute of Marine Science, sited on Sydney Harbour at Chowder Bay. The Faculty of Law of the University of New South Wales is a law school situated in Sydney, Australia. The Faculty is one of the most innovative and... prestigious law schools in Australia. The Faculty comprises the School of Law and 12 affiliated research and specialist legal centres. Currently, the Faculty teaches approximately 3000 students. The Faculty opened on 1 March 1971 with 219 undergraduate students. Prior to this, only the University of Sydney offered law degrees in New South Wales. The task of establishing the new law school was given to Hal Wootten QC, who was appointed Foundation Dean in 1969. When it was first started, it was just a one-man unit in a wooden hut. Within two years of opening its doors, the Law Faculty had outgrown "The Huts" and, via other interim homes, in 1976 moved to occupy five floors of the UNSW Library Tower. In 2006 the Faculty moved to a new law building on lower campus. A new law building, located on lower campus, opened to students in July 2006. The building was officially opened on 21 September 2006 by Chief Justice of Australia Murray Gleeson. The new building is four storeys high and was designed by Melbourne architects Lyons.

The Australian Defence Force Academy is a tri-service military Academy that provides military and tertiary academic education for junior officers of... the Australian Defence Force in the Royal Australian Navy , Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force . Tertiary education is provided by the University of New South Wales Canberra campus, which is the awarding body for ADFA qualifications. Apart from educating future leaders of the Australian Defence Force, University of New South Wales campus also provides postgraduate programs and short courses both to the Department of Defence personnel and the general public. The stated purpose of ADFA is "to serve Australia by providing the Australian Defence Force with tertiary graduates who have the foundational attributes, intellect and skills required of an officer." ADFA is located in the Australian capital city of Canberra, in the suburb of Campbell near the Australian Government district of Russell. It is situated next to Mount Pleasant which gives some parts of ADFA a view over the rest of Canberra. The ADFA is also adjacent to the Australian Army military academy, the Royal Military College, Duntroon.

New College, University of New South Wales is a residential college, located in the UNSW campus in Sydney, Australia. It was founded in 1969 as part... of the work of the New University Colleges' Council Although the college is built on Anglican principles, it is home to both local and international students of all backgrounds. The original college houses 250 undergraduate students including 8 student Residential Advisors and 11 Academic Tutors, the college hosts regular formal dinners with renowned guest speakers. New College is also home to the Centre for Apologetic Scholarship and Education which specialises in Christian apologetics. The college has a strong academic focus with around 45% of its undergraduate students maintaining at least a distinction average. The original New College building enforces a strict no alcohol policy whilst in College itself, this rule was set in place by the founders and ensures an environment in which excessive consumption of alcohol plays no part. New College celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2009.

Goldstein College, University of New South Wales is one of the residential colleges of the University of New South Wales, Australia, and is one of... the three Kensington Colleges . It is located on High Street of the Kensington campus, between Gate 4 and Gate 5. Goldstein College was opened on 30 June 1964, along with the Goldstein Dining Hall which is used by all three of The Kensington Colleges. It was designed by the Government Architect, Mr E.H.Farmer, and a member of his staff, Mr Peter Hall, who later became the supervising architect of the Sydney Opera House Goldstein College was named after Philip Godfrey Goldstein , who had arrived in Australia in 1911 as a migrant from England. In 1959 he donated ₤40,000 towards the construction of the Hall and College, which initially housed women and postgraduate students, and was the first college accommodation for women on campus. Its 74 places are open to any students enrolled at the university. It comprises two buildings surrounding a grassy courtyard accessible only to residents.

Shalom College is a residential college located on the Kensington campus of the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Although it is... run by Sydney's Jewish community, observes Jewish culture and follows kosher rules, the college is open to people of all religions, creeds and backgrounds. The college is run by The Shalom Institute, a not-for-profit Jewish educational organisation. It also plays host to a number of organisations and projects from within the Jewish, academic and general communities. The college was founded in 1973. In 2006 the college housed 128 students from many countries, in both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Shalom College is one of the most modern colleges on the Kensington campus with new rooms built in 2003 and old rooms renovated in 2005. Most of the rooms in the college have private or shared balconies, many overlooking the village green. The newer wing of the college includes personal ensuites. The two wings are connected through two kitchenettes, a pool room, a minor common room and a TV room.

Timothy Fridtjof Flannery is an Australian mammalogist, palaeontologist, environmentalist and global warming activist. Flannery was named Australian... of the Year in 2007 and is currently a professor at Macquarie University. He is also the chairman of the Copenhagen Climate Council, an international climate change awareness group. His sometimes controversial views on shutting down conventional coal fired power stations for electricity generation in the medium term are frequently cited in the media. Flannery was raised in a Catholic family in the Melbourne suburb of Sandringham, close to Port Philip Bay, where he learned to fish and scuba dive and became aware of marine pollution and its effects on living organisms. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in English at La Trobe University in 1977, and then took a change of direction to complete a Master of Science degree in Earth Science at Monash University in 1981. He then left Melbourne for Sydney, enjoying its subtropical climate and species diversity. In 1984, Flannery earned a doctorate at the University of New South Wales in Palaeontology for his work on the evolution of macropods .

Glenn Marcus Murcutt AO is a British-born Australian architect and winner of the 2002 Pritzker Prize and 2009 AIA Gold Medal. Murcutt was born in... London to Australian parents. He grew up in the Morobe Province of Papua New Guinea, where he developed an appreciation for simple, vernacular architecture. He was educated at Manly Boys' High School and studied architecture at the Sydney Technical College, from which he graduated in 1961, and where he became friends with other soon-to-be-prominent students, including director Jim Sharman, theatre designer Brian Thomson and film producer Matt Carroll. Murcutt's early work experience was with various architects, such as Neville Gruzman, Ken Woolley and Bryce Mortlock which exposed him to their style of organic architecture focussing on relationships to nature. By 1969 Murcutt established his own practise in the Sydney suburb of Mosman. Murcutt works as a sole practitioner, producing residential and institutional work all over Australia.

Rachael Morelle Blake is an Australian actress. Blake was born in Perth. At the age of 18 months, she moved to England with her British parents only... to return to Perth at age 11. Blake was born deaf in one ear, a condition that was rectified by a series of operations undertaken before she was six. To overcome shyness and her hearing defect, her mother enrolled her in elocution lessons, which she continued until age 17. After attending the John Curtin College of the Arts high school in Perth, she applied to, and was rejected by, Sydney's National Institute of Dramatic Art at age 17. The rejection was because of her age. She was accepted into NIDA when she was 19. At 13, Blake was cast in a short film. After studying at NIDA, she worked on Australian television shows Home And Away, Pacific Drive, and Heartbreak High. In 1997, she took the role of Dr Maxine Summers in the ABC crime drama Wildside. Blake's first film role was in the Australian children's movie Paws. She has also starred in the film Lantana with Anthony LaPaglia; and in the British satirical black comedy Suburban Shootout between 2006–2007.
