The Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources is a constituent body of the University of Sydney, Australia. Agriculture was first taught at... the University by Australia's first Professor of Agriculture, Robert Dickie Watt, in 1910. Today the Faculty has over 100 staff involved in teaching and research. The Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses concerned with issues surrounding food, carbon, water and the natural environment. Four undergratuate degrees are offered: Postgraduate research degrees offered include honours, Master's degree of Agricultural Science or Agricultural Economics, or Doctor of Philosophy . Postgraduate courseswork degrees include Master's degree of Agriculture, Graduate Diploma of Agriculture and Graduate Certificate in Agriculture. Most undergraduate and postgraduate coursework teaching is conducted at the University of Sydney's Camperdown/Darlington Campus and the new facility in the Australian Technology Park, Eveleigh. Some postgraduate students and certain undergraduate units are based at the University of Sydney's Camden Campus, including the Plant Breeding Institute.

The Faculty of Veterinary Science is a constituent body of the University of Sydney, Australia. Initially established on 22 March 1910, it is the... second oldest established veterinary school in Australia, the longest running veterinary school in Australia and one of two universities offering veterinary degrees in New South Wales. The faculty is mainly established across both Camperdown and Camden campuses with two undergraduate degrees offered by the faculty – the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and the Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience. The faculty is usually associated with the Roundhouse or Centaur as a logo and recently celebrated its centenary in 2010. The Faculty of Veterinary Science officially opened in 1910 with a student enrolment of 16 students and James Douglas Steward appointed as Director. Without proper facilities, teaching was done in the then Fisher Library of the Main Quadrangle but relocated to the J.D. Stewart Building in 1913 after its completion. In 1920, the Veterinary School obtained full faculty status with Professor J.D. Stewart as Dean. Under Stewart, student enrolments gradually increased from 25 in 1928 to over 100 in 1935.

The Sydney College of the Arts in Rozelle, Sydney, Australia is the visual arts faculty of the University of Sydney. It is housed in the Kirkbride... complex, a cluster of sandstone buildings designed by James Barnet, the government architect in the late 19th century. The complex was part of the Callan Park Lunatic Asylum for the Mentally and Criminally Insane, which was built between 1878 and 1884. It was a major psychiatric hospital for many years but, in the late 20th century, the hospital functions were moved to the western section of the estate and the Kirkbride complex became the home of the College of the Arts. The college is a base for the study of the visual arts. Studio areas at SCA include Ceramics, Jewellery and Object, Glass, Photomedia, Film and Digital Art, Painting, Printmedia, Sculpture Performance and Installation and Theoretical Enquiry.

Russell benefactions was formally opened by the Governor on 20 September 1909.

It is an Australian graduate-entry dental school based at two... locations: Westmead Centre for Oral health which is a part of Westmead hospital, and Sydney Dental Hospital which is situated between Chalmers Street and Elizabeth Street opposite the entrance to Central Station. The Sydney Dental Hospital was the original site of the Faculty of Dentistry when it was first opened in March 1901. In addition to the four-year Doctor of Dental Medicine program, Sydney offers specialty training programs combined with the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry degree, advanced training programs, and research degrees including MPhil and PhD programs. The Faculty of Dentistry offers high quality clinical and research facilities and supervision to postgraduate students. The Sydney Conservatorium of Music is one of the oldest and most prestigious music schools in Australia. Located adjacent to the Sydney Royal... Botanic Gardens, the Conservatorium incorporates a faculty of the University of Sydney, the community-based Conservatorium Open Academy and the Conservatorium High School. Originally commissioned in 1815 as the stables for the proposed Government House of New South Wales, the oldest Conservatorium building was designed by the convict architect, Francis Greenway. A gothic structure with turrets, the building was described as a "palace for horses" and is a portrayal of the romantic vision of Governor Lachlan Macquarie and the British architectural trends of the time. The stables, located close to picturesque Sydney Harbour, reflect the building techniques and the range of materials and skills employed during the early settlement era. In 1915 the NSW Government under William Holman allocated £22,000 to the redevelopment of the stables into a music school.

St Andrew's College is a Protestant co-residential college within the University of Sydney, in the suburb of Camperdown. St Andrew's College was... incorporated by Act of Parliament and received Royal Assent from Queen Victoria on 12 December 1867. The St Andrew's College Act 1998 replaced the St Andrews Incorporation Act 1867. This change means the Principal may be member of the laity and the religious affiliations of councillors was broadened to include all Protestants but exclude Catholics. The College Council first met in 1870 and the first students began their studies when the Main building was completed in 1878, with an initial student intake of 16. The student population increased to 140 in 1953 when the Reid building was completed, to 200 when the Thyne building was opened in 1966 and again to 235 when the Carillon Avenue Building was completed. The College occupies 4 hectares of land adjacent the main campus of the University of Sydney and was built on a sub-grant of Crown Land.

Dr Marie Leech has been the Principal of the College since 2008. Sancta Sophia College was founded in 1925 as a residential college for Catholic Women. The first steps to establish a residential college for Catholic women at the University of Sydney were begun as early as 1910 when social changes meant it was expected that more women from rural as well as urban centres would enrol at the university. In November 1923 the Catholic Archbishop of Sydney, Michael Kelly and the Bishops of New South Wales issued a pastoral letter that drew attention to the advantages of university education for the Catholic community and announced that a Catholic Women’s College would be built. The College was to be administered by nuns from the order of the Religious of the Sacred Heart, which had been founded in France in 1800. The foundation stone of the Hall of Residence was laid on 26 March 1925, and the name ‘Sancta Sophia’ was chosen.

Wesley College is a Protestant co-residential college of over 230 students within the University of Sydney. Wesley is one of six on-campus colleges at the University of Sydney, which provide accommodation. Wesley is located a few minutes walk from the University campus. Every year, Wesley men compete for The Rawson Cup, which was presented to the Sydney University Sports Union in 1906 by Admiral Sir Harry Rawson, and is the height of male intercollegiate sport. The cup is fought for throughout the year by men representing each of the University of Sydney Colleges accumulating points by competing in Cricket, Rowing, Swimming, Rugby, Tennis, Soccer, Basketball and Athletics. Wesley has won the Rawson Cup on 7 occasions. The female sporting trophy, the Rosebowl Cup, has been won by Wesley on more occasions than any other college.

Jill Ker Conway is an Australian-American author. Well known for her autobiographies, in particular her first memoir, The Road from Coorain. She was... also Smith College's first woman president, from 1975–1985, and now serves as a Visiting Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2004 she was designated a Women's History Month Honoree by the National Women's History Project. Conway was born in Hillston, New South Wales in the outback of Australia. Together with her two brothers, Conway was raised in near-total isolation on a family owned 73 square kilometres tract of land, Coorain , which was eventually expanded into 129 square kilometres . On Coorain she lived a lonely life, and grew up without playmates except for her brothers. She was schooled entirely by her mother and a country governess. Conway spent her youth working the sheep station; by age seven, she was an important member of the workforce, helping with such activities as herding and tending the sheep, checking the perimeter fences and lugging heavy farm supplies around.
