University Park

Bryce Jordan Center is a 15,261-seat multi-purpose arena in University Park, Pennsylvania. The arena opened in 1995 and is the largest such venue... between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. It replaced Rec Hall as the home to the Penn State University Nittany Lions men's and women's basketball team, the Pride of the Lions Pep Band, and for the men, its student section, Nittany Nation. It also plays host to a number of events such as music concerts, circuses, and commencement ceremonies for colleges within the university. The arena is named after former Penn State University president Bryce Jordan who was instrumental in acquiring the funding needed to build it. The arena is associated with the Arena Network, a marketing and scheduling group of 38 arenas. The arena is located across the street from Beaver Stadium on Curtin Road, on the eastern part of the campus. This part of campus is home to many of the school's athletic facilities, including the recently built Medlar Field at Lubrano Park baseball facility and Jeffrey Field soccer stadium. There is a large electronic display outside the arena which provides advertisements for future events.

New Beaver Field was a stadium in University Park, Pennsylvania. It hosted the Penn State University Nittany Lions football team until they moved to... Beaver Stadium which now holds 100,000 plus in 1960. The stadium held 30,000 people at its peak and was opened in 1909. The stadium is named after James A. Beaver, who was a governor of Pennsylvania and a member of the school's board of trustees.

Recreation Building, or Rec Hall as it is more commonly known, is a field house located on the University Park campus of the Pennsylvania State... University. It was opened on January 15, 1929 and is still in use. Previously, Penn State's indoor sports teams played in a building known as the Armory, which was razed to allow expansion of the Willard Building. The men's and women's basketball teams moved to the Bryce Jordan Center in 1996 but the gymnastics, volleyball, and wrestling teams continue to compete at Rec Hall. The well-known Nittany Lion shrine is located nearby this building. The Penn State Dance Marathon, commonly known as THON, was held in Rec Hall from 1999 to 2006, but was subsequently moved to the Bryce Jordan Center. The architect was Charles Z. Klauder, who had designed the University of Pennsylvania's Palestra. The Colonial Georgian design of Rec Hall was chosen to "harmonize" with other new structures on campus. Rec Hall has undergone many renovations over its history.

The Penn State Ice Pavilion is an 1,350-seat ice arena on the campus of The Pennsylvania State University located in University Park, Pennsylvania.... The ice arena includes an NHL regulation sized 200' x 85' ice sheet as well as a 45' x 55' studio ice sheet. The Ice Pavilion is home to the Penn State Nittany Lions men's and women's ice hockey teams, also known as the Icers. The men's team competes at the ACHA Division I level in the Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League; while the women's team competes at ACHA Women's Division I level in the Eastern Collegiate Women's Hockey League. PSU also fields a second men's team at the ACHA Division II level in the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association. The facility is also home to the Penn State Figure Skating Club, hockey and is used local high school and youth hockey, figure skating, broomball Penn State University Physical Education classes, and public skating. Reports associated with the men's and women's ice hockey teams moving to the NCAA Division I level also include plans for the university to construct an $80 million 5,000-6,000 seat ice arena for the teams.
