Tom Araya is a Chilean American musician, best known as the bassist and vocalist of the American thrash metal band Slayer. Araya is ranked... fifty-eighth by Hit Parader on their list of the 100 Greatest Metal Vocalists of All Time. Araya was employed as a respiratory therapist in the early 1980s and used his earnings to finance Slayer's debut album Show No Mercy. Much of Araya's lyrical content is about serial killers, a subject he finds interesting, first making his lyrical contribution to 1985's Hell Awaits with the track "At Dawn They Sleep". Araya said that he grew up in "a neighborhood that was pretty gang-oriented." Araya's older brother, Cisco, played the guitar. This inspired Araya to pick up the bass at age eight. The two played Beatles and Rolling Stones songs, which he would later cite as an influence on his own music. In the early 1980s, Araya's eldest sister suggested he enroll in a program to become certified as a respiratory therapist. Araya's father insisted he either find a job or enroll in the course.

Evelyn Ankers was a British actress born in Chile. She often played variations on the role of the cultured young leading lady in many American... horror films during the 1940s, most notably The Wolf Man at age 23 opposite Lon Chaney, Jr., a frequent screen partner. Known as "the Queen of the Screamers", her other films include The Ghost of Frankenstein , Captive Wild Woman , Son of Dracula , The Mad Ghoul , Jungle Woman , Weird Woman , The Invisible Man's Revenge and The Frozen Ghost . Ankers also appeared in Hold That Ghost , Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror , His Butler's Sister , The Pearl of Death , Pardon My Rhythm , Tarzan's Magic Fountain , and played Calamity Jane in The Texan Meets Calamity Jane , for which she received top billing. Ankers made over fifty films between 1936 and 1950, then retired from movies to be a housewife. Leopoldo Méndez Alcayaga is a Chilean-Swedish DJ, singer and producer, known by his stage name Méndez, formerly DJ Méndez. He won the... 2002 MTV Video Music Awards Latinoamérica Awards for Best Southwest New Artist. Méndez was born in Valparaiso, Chile on 21 July 1975. His father was a political dissident, and after the Chilean regime began monitoring him, he left the country. In 1986, Méndez, his two brothers and mother left for Sweden, they lived at various places, before settling down in the suburb of Farsta, in Stockholm. He went to school in the Larsbodaskolan, in Farsta Strand, and like many other youths, joined a gang and was small-time criminal, though he always had the goal of making it in showbusiness. After several run ins with the police, he focused on beginning his career. After joining a counseling institution called Fasta and meeting sound engineer Jordi Fuste, DJ Méndez started his career as a Latin rapper, making his live debut in a local festival.
