Bella grew up in Santa Monica, CA. She was married to Edward Furlong, her costar in the 2006 film Jimmy and Judy. She gave birth to their son, Ethan Page Furlong, on September 21, 2006. On July 8, 2009, Bella filed for divorce from Furlong. In October 2010, Bella received a restraining order from a court against Furlong. She claimed he threatened to commit suicide, repeatedly refused to undergo any drug tests, and that he told her he hit their son's testicles. He was also ordered by the court to undergo counselling. On 10 January 2011, Furlong was arrested and jailed for violating his probation stemming from the restraining order.

The state is bisected by the Missouri River, dividing South Dakota into two geographically and socially distinct halves, known to residents as "East River" and "West River". Eastern South Dakota is home to most of the state's population, and fertile soil in this area is used to grow a variety of crops. West of the Missouri, ranching is the predominant agricultural activity, and the economy is more dependent on tourism and defense spending. The Black Hills, a group of low pine-covered mountains, is located in the southwest part of the state.
