Texas A&M University is a coeducational public research university located in College Station, Texas, United States. It is the flagship institution of the Texas A&M University System. Texas A&M's designation as a land, sea, and space grant institution reflects a broad range of research with ongoing projects funded by agencies such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration , the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the Office of Naval Research. The school ranks in the top 20 American research institutes in terms of funding and has made notable contributions to such fields as animal cloning and petroleum engineering. The first public institution of higher education in Texas, the school opened on October 4, 1876 as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas. Its original mission was to educate white males in farming and military techniques.

Bay is a city in Craighead County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,800 at the 2000 census. It is included in the Jonesboro, Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,800 people, 690 households, and 518 families residing in the city. The population density was 536.7 people per square mile . There were 734 housing units at an average density of 218.8/sq mi . The racial makeup of the city was 95.39% White, 2.94% Black or African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.78% from other races, and 0.72% from two or more races. 1.50% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 690 households out of which 35.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.0% were married couples living together, 12.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.8% were non-families. 22.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.
