Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos

Lady Jaina Proudmoore is a fictional character in the Warcraft universe a fictional universe in which a series of games and books are set. She is the... most powerful Human sorceress alive, a protￃﾩgￃﾩ of Archmage Antonidas, and former lover of Arthas, the one-time Prince of Lordaeron and now enemy of all who live. When Arthas began to fall from grace in his efforts against the Undead Scourge, Jaina tried to talk him back into sanity, but to no avail. She did not follow Arthas into Northrend, but instead rounded up what remained of the Alliance of Lordaeron and travelled to the West, to the continent of Kalimdor, as the Prophet Medivh had instructed. There she made pacts with Thrall, the visionary leader of the Horde, and Tyrande Whisperwind, the High Priestess of the Night Elves. Together the fragile alliance successfully defended the World Tree and defeated the Burning Legion's Second Invasion led by Archimonde. After the war, Jaina rallied the remaining humans, elves, and dwarves and retreated to Theramore Isle, in the Dustwallow Marsh off the coast of southeastern Kalimdor. There she founded an Alliance stronghold, the only bastion of Human power on the western continent.

Arthas Menethil is a fictional character in the Warcraft universe, a fictional universe in which a series of games and books are set. Arthas Menethil... is the son of King Terenas king of Lordaeron, the northernmost Human kingdom, and is thus the crown prince of Lordaeron. He has a sister named Calia Menethil. Arthas was first introduced in the novel Day of the Dragon as a young boy. At the age of nineteen he was inducted into the Knights of the Silver Hand at the behest and with the sponsorship of the renowned paladin Uther Lightbringer. It is indicated in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne that he had once competed with Prince Kael'thas of the Elven Kingdom of Quel'Thalas to win the heart and hand of Jaina Proudmoore. Little else is known of Arthas during his younger years. At the beginning of the first part in the single-player campaign, Arthas is battling orcs when he hears of a mysterious plague in the north of Lordaeron. Arthas and Jaina Proudmoore journey northward in a desperate bid to outrace the plague, confronted at every step by a necromancer named Kel'Thuzad.

Antonidas was the leader of the Kirin Tor in the fictional Warcraft Universe. Under his leadership a permanent alliance with Lordaeron was founded... and Dalaran gained significant power. The aged and wizened leader of the Kirin Tor, Antonidas became a powerful archmage through his seventy-one years of life. He fought to defend, and then to rebuild, the Violet Citadel during and after the Second War, and pledged an ever-faithful loyalty to Lordaeron. As time passed, failing health kept him from leaving the Violet Citadel. However, his protￃﾩgￃﾩ, Sorceress Jaina Proudmoore, kept him abreast of world events, and served as his eyes and ears in the Warcraft World, and mainly, Lordaeron. Antonidas, like many prominent figures in the Alliance, was met by the mysterious Prophet Medivh before the Invasion began. The Prophet warned him that he must journey west, but Antonidas was heedless, believing the Prophet to be nothing more than a fool and a madman. Despite Jaina's instinct about the Prophet, Antonidas instead chose to focus attention on the plague sweeping across the north.

Archimonde is a demon lord and warlock who originated from the world of Argus and then The Twisting Nether in the fantasy Warcraft Universe. He is... among the most feared and evil characters within the fictional world of Warcraft. Archimonde, along with Kil'jaeden and Velen, was one of the three rulers of the Eredar on the planet Argus. Impressed by the mortal Eredar's magical talent, Sargeras, ruler of the Burning Legion, approached the three leaders and asked their race to join his growing demonic army in return for eternal life and great power. Archimonde and Kil'jaeden accepted on behalf of their people, but Velen refused, fleeing Argus with his followers. This contradicts the original backstory of the eredar written in the Warcraft 3 game manual, in which the eredar were demons to begin with. However, Blizzard has stated that this was a consistency error, and that the revised story supporting the release of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, is now to be taken as canon. Chosen as a champion, along with Kil'jaeden, by Sargeras, Archimonde the Defiler was the leader in the Burning Legion's First Invasion.

Sierra Entertainment Inc. was an American video-game developer and publisher founded in 1979 as On-Line Systems by Ken and Roberta Williams. Based in Fresno, California, the company was last owned by Activision, a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard. Sierra is best known today for its multiple lines... of seminal graphic adventure games started in the 1980s, many of which proved influential in the history of video games. The Sierra label was absorbed by its parent company. Some franchises that were published by Sierra will be published by Activision, which also announced in 2008 that it may sell the Sierra brand. Sierra Entertainment was founded in 1979 as On-Line Systems in Simi Valley, California, by Ken and Roberta Williams. Ken Williams, a programmer for IBM, bought an Apple II microcomputer with which he planned to use to develop a FORTRAN compiler for the Apple II. At the time, his wife Roberta Williams was playing text adventure games on the Apple II. Dissatisfied with the text-only format, she realized that the graphics display capability of the Apple II could enhance the adventure gaming experience.

The original companies that spawned Capcom's Japanese branch were I.R.M Corporation founded on May 30, 1979, as well as its subsidiary Japan Capsule Computer Co., Ltd., both of which were devoted to the manufacturing and distribution of electronic game machines. The two companies underwent a name change to Sambi Co., Ltd. in September 1981, while Capcom Co., Ltd. itself was first established on June 11, 1983, for the purpose of taking over the internal sales department. In January 1989, the old affiliate company Capcom Co., Ltd. merged with Sambi Co., Ltd., resulting in the current Japanese branch.
