Christopher Marrero is a Major League Baseball first baseman for the Washington Nationals. A 2006 graduate of Monsignor Edward Pace High School in Miami, Florida, Marrero was selected by the Washington Nationals with the 15th overall pick in the 2006 amateur draft and signed for a bonus of $1.625... million. Marrero spent the 2006 season with the GCL Nationals, Washington's affiliate in the rookie-level Gulf Coast League. In 2007 he played on Potomac Nationals, a high A team where he hit third spot and played first base. He began the 2008 season with the extended spring training team from the Washington Nationals and eventually ended up playing for the Potomac Nationals again. His second minor league season was cut short when he suffered a broken right fibula on 18 June 2008. Marrero was called up to the majors for the first time on August 27, 2011. Marrero is the nephew of former major-leaguer Eli Marrero.

He accrued a record of 0 wins and 1 loss and an ERA of 3.38 in 5 starts with the GCL Nationals. In 2007 Willems pitched for the Vermont Lake Monsters in the short-season New York-Penn League. He logged 58⅔ innings in twelve starts, winning 3, losing 2, and recording a 1.84 ERA. Williems retired from baseball in May of 2010.

Ryan Wallace Zimmerman is a Major League Baseball third baseman with the Washington Nationals. A 6-foot 3-inch player from the University of Virginia and Kellam High School, Zimmerman has been a member of the Nationals since his debut on September 1, 2005. A three-year starting shortstop for the Virginia Cavaliers in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Zimmerman started in all 174 games he appeared in, and his collegiate career statistics include 250 hits, 140 RBIs, 128 runs, 47 doubles, seven triples and nine home runs. He was successful on 32 of 39 stolen base attempts.
