Congregation Beth Israel is a synagogue located in West Hartford, Connecticut. The synagogue is one of the two the oldest Jewish congregations in... Connecticut and one of the largest Reform Jewish congregations in New England, with about 900 member families and about 2,000 individual members. As Temple Beth Israel, its 1933 building was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1995. Beth Israel serves as a center for worship, education, and social programs. Congregation Beth Israel is located at 701 Farmington Ave in West Hartford, Connecticut. The congregation occupies a large building dominated by an enormous Byzantine dome. Inside are a sanctuary , a chapel, a religious school, a pre-school, offices, two meeting halls, a small museum, and a library. Beautiful stained glass windows are present in both the sanctuary and the chapel. The building has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. government. The congregation worships in a notable 1936 building by architect Charles R. Greco. Built at the height of the Art Deco period, the Byzantine revival form in Art Deco style presents a majectic appearance.

Joseph Mascolo is an American musician and dramatic actor. During his long career, he has acted in numerous motion pictures and television series.... He is best known for playing Stefano DiMera, a role he originated in 1982 on NBC's long running Days of our Lives. Mascolo was born and raised in West Hartford, Connecticut. His parents were immigrants from Italy, Peter Mascolo and Anna Mascolo , who were really fortunate to have made it to their 80th wedding anniversary shortly before his father died. He attended the University of Miami and then the United States Military Academy. He was originally training in Classical Music. Mascolo appeared in the 1978 film Jaws 2 as a member of the city council who confronted Chief Brody when the Chief brought forth the underwater photograph of what he believed was another shark. He also played a police detective in the Burt Reynolds feature Sharky's Machine. Mascolo is best known in the recurring role of Stefano DiMera on Days of our Lives from 1982 to 1985, returning briefly in 1988, again from 1993 to 2001, and making appearances again since 2007.

Brian Andrew Rosenworcel is the drummer for the band Guster. For many years, Rosenworcel, the youngest member of the band, played a combination of... bongos, congas, djembe, hand snares and cymbals instead of using a traditional drumset. He now alternates between hand percussion and drum set, and he has the nickname "Thundergod" because of his drumming. He has, on at least one occasion, performed on turntables as DJ Thundergod. Rosenworcel is famous in the Guster community not only for his drumming technique, but also for the authorship of the band's Road and Studio Journals, which are available for public view at Guster's website. Rosenworcel grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut where he was in a high-school band called Toejamb. He went on to attend Tufts University, graduating with honors with a bachelor's degree in American Studies. At Tufts, he met Ryan Miller and Adam Gardner, and they formed Guster, playing in Harvard Square among other locations. After college, Rosenworcel remained Guster's drummer. In November 2011, Brian's sister, Jessica Rosenworcel, was nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as a Democrat on the Federal Communications Commission.

His acting career began when he appeared in a series of Broadway dramas and musicals. He has since become an accomplished actor in both starring and supporting film and television roles. His largest fame and first love has been the legitimate theater. He won the Theatre World Award for his performance in Long Day's Journey Into Night in 1971. He went on to star with Geneviève Bujold in Antigone which was later made into a film in 1974. He starred in the musical I Love My Wife in 1977 and in the drama Whose Life is it Anyway? opposite Mary Tyler Moore in 1980. He won his first Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical in 1990 for City of Angels. In 1997 he won a second Tony Award with his portrayal of lawyer Billy Flynn in the musical Chicago.

Christopher Ender Carrabba is the lead singer and guitarist of the band Dashboard Confessional, and is the vocalist for the American emo/indie rock... band Further Seems Forever. He was born in West Hartford, Connecticut, and then moved with his family to Boca Raton, Florida, when he was 16 years old. Carrabba's parents divorced when he was three; he moved from Connecticut to Florida with his mom. He is still close to many relatives on his father's side of the family, but not to his father specifically. Carrabba studied education while at Florida Atlantic University. As a teenager, he lived for skateboarding and punk rock, but he has always had a real passion for music. He sang in the high school choir, and when he was fifteen, his uncle gave him a guitar to which he devoted a great deal of his time. However, it was not until he graduated from high school that Chris became serious about his music. Just after graduation, Chris joined his first band, The Vacant Andys. Chris went on to college to procure a degree in education while simultaneously playing with The Vacant Andys, and later with The Agency.

David Alan Basche is an American actor. Basche was born in Hartford, Connecticut. His first acting role was in a school production of The Adventures... of Tom Sawyer when he was in the sixth grade at West Hartford's Norfeldt Elementary School. Basche, who describes his demeanor then as an "angry, smart-ass kid," tried out for and landed the lead role after a school counselor suggested he take up acting to channel some of his anger and emotion. Basche appeared in several plays presented by the Greater Hartford Jewish Community Center while he was a student at King Philip Middle School, and he had roles in 10 school plays during his four years at William H. Hall High School in West Hartford. Basche then went on to Emerson College, starting out as a communications major before switching to performing arts. His first major exposure was starring in Oh Grow Up, a short-lived sitcom created by Alan Ball. He later played Steven Keats in the NBC sitcom Three Sisters. He appeared in the 2005 motion picture War of the Worlds in the role of Tim, the stepfather of Dakota Fanning and Justin Chatwin's characters. In 2006 he played Todd Beamer in United 93.

Chip Arndt is an American gay activist, best known as a winner of The Amazing Race 4 in 2003 with former partner Reichen Lehmkuhl. The team was the... first out gay couple to win a reality television competition. Arndt attended Hotchkiss School, Yale University, and Harvard University, where he was the president of the Harvard Business School Gay and Lesbian Student Association. Prior to the Amazing Race, he worked as an investment banker. The youngest and only boy of four children, Arndt attended Hotchkiss School, a private school in his native Connecticut, and won a fellowship to a 13th year at Harrow College in Northwest London. He earned his undergraduate degree in history, with honors, at Yale University in 1990, where he was captain of the undefeated golf team, named All-New England golf champion for two years, and All-Ivy champion for three years. He was an active member in the prestigious Sigma Nu Fraternity.
