William "Will" Bynum is an American professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons in the NBA. He plays the point guard position. After starring at Crane High School in Chicago, Bynum played for the University of Arizona. After his sophomore season, he transferred to Georgia Tech. He helped the Yellow Jackets reach the Final Four, where they lost to the Connecticut Huskies in the championship game. Bynum previously hit the last-second game-winning shot against Oklahoma State to propel Tech to the championship game. Despite having the same surname, he is not related to Los Angeles... Lakers center Andrew Bynum. After signing a contract with the NBA's Boston Celtics in the off-season of 2005, he participated in NBA preseason play and was subsequently waived before the start of the 2005–06 regular season. He appeared for the Golden State Warriors during that season, playing 15 games from 19 March–19 April 2006. Prior to that, he played for the Roanoke Dazzle of the NBA Development League, drafted 5th overall and winning the 2005–06 NBA Development League Rookie of the Year award.
