Willamette University School of Education is a master’s degree granting program at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, United States. The school offers a master of arts in teaching degree and runs the Center for Excellence in Teaching program, or CET. These programs have a total enrollment of 250 students. The school is currently a candidate for national accreditation through the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education . NCATE is a national coalition of more than 30 organizations that represents teachers, teacher educators, policymakers, and the public. The CET... program began in 1999 and offers graduate level courses for teaching professionals. These courses are designed to provide class work needed for teachers attempting to earn their Continuing Teaching License, earn a reading endorsement towards Teachers Standards and Practices Commission requirements, an English for Speakers of Other Languages endorsement, and other professional courses for teachers and administrators. Additionally, the school offers the New Directions in Educational Leadership designed for school administrators to obtain licensing.
