The Governor's Palace, home of the Colony of Virginia's Royal Governors as well as Virginia's post colonial governors, is located on Duke of... Gloucester Street in Williamsburg, Virginia. It is one of the two largest buildings at Colonial Williamsburg, the other being the Capitol. Patrick Henry served as the first and sixth post-colonial governor and resided at the Governor's Palace from 1776-1779. Thomas Jefferson, Virginia's second governor, resided at the Governor's Palace from 1779-1780 until the Capital was moved to Richmond. During a large portion of the period Williamsburg was the Capital of the Virginia Colony , the Governor's Palace was the official residence of the royal governor. The original building took 16 years to construct, and was completed in 1721. The seven governors who lived in the original palace included: It was the last resident, Thomas Jefferson, who urged that the Capital of Virginia be relocated to Richmond in 1780 for security reasons during the American Revolution. The new lodging for the governor adjacent to the current Virginia State Capitol building in Richmond is more modest in size and style, and is called the Governor's Mansion.

It is the state's largest winery, accounting for one quarter of all wine produced in Virginia. The Williamsburg Winery took its present form for the first time in 1985, when Patrick and Margaret Duffeler bought a 320-acre parcel of land which they called "Wessex Hundred". They began planting vines immediately, and the first harvest was taken in 1987. The first wine was released in 1988, and was called "Governor's White". This wine remains the winery's most popular. The Williamsburg Winerey produces approximately 65,000 cases of wine annually.

Known for the spontaneity and creativity of his live... performances, Hornsby draws frequently from classical, jazz, bluegrass, folk, Motown, rock, blues, and jam band musical traditions with his songwriting and the seamless improvisations contained within. Hornsby's recordings have been recognised on a number of occasions with industry awards, including the Best New Artist Grammy in 1987 with Bruce Hornsby and the Range, the Best Bluegrass Recording Grammy in 1990, and the Best Pop Instrumental Grammy in 1993. Hornsby has also achieved recognition for his solo albums and performances, his current live act Bruce Hornsby & the Noise Makers, his bluegrass project with Ricky Skaggs, his jazz act The Bruce Hornsby Trio, and his appearances as a session- and guest-musician. He also collaborated with the Grateful Dead and was a member of the band from September 1990 to March 1992, playing at many shows during this period in their history.

Henderson Forsythe was an American actor. Forsythe was born in Macon, Missouri, the son of Mary Katherine and Cecil Proctor Forsythe. In 1979, Forsythe won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor for his work in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, which showcased his ability to be a triple threat; he ultimately created the role in London. He also appeared onstage in dramas such as Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf by Edward Albee, and The Birthday Party by Harold Pinter. He created the role of Andrew Jorgensen in the off-broadway play Other People's Money . His television credits included a recurring role as Big Bud on the television series Eight is Enough, which he reprised for another television series starring Scott Bakula called Eisenhower and Lutz. Other soap operas on which he appeared are From These Roots and The Edge of Night. He appeared in many movies, such as Silkwood and Chances Are.

David Berman is an American poet, cartoonist, and singer-songwriter best known for his work with indie-rock band the Silver Jews. David Berman was... born January 4, 1967 in Williamsburg, Virginia. He attended high school at Greenhill School in Addison, Texas, before matriculating at the University of Virginia. While in Charlottesville, Virginia, Berman began writing and performing songs with his loose band, Ectoslavia, primarily composed of UVA classmates Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich. Upon graduation from the University of Virginia, the trio moved to Hoboken, New Jersey, where they shared an apartment and adopted the moniker Silver Jews. Before moving to Hoboken, Malkmus had also founded another band, Pavement, with his childhood friend Scott Kannberg. As Pavement's acclaim and visibility grew, the notion arose that the Silver Jews were a "Pavement side-project," despite the fact that Berman's writing, singing, and guitar playing led the band's music, and, of course, the Silver Jews preceded Pavement.

Brendan Reed was born on March 21, 1978 in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was an active member of the art and music community in Williamsburg from 1993-1999. Williamsburg is best known for Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and The College of William and Mary. While attending high school Reed organized, composed for, and performed with a number of local groups: Robes of Alchemy , Evil Colossal , Uneducate Evil , The Buttons , The Spartans , Bizarro , and Nocarsgo . Between 1989 and 1999 Reed founded three bands featuring the same four core members: Reed on vocals and guitar, guitarist Duane Lauginiger , bassist Fredrick Burton III and drummer Jaques Hagee .
