St George's Chapel is the place of worship at Windsor Castle in England, United Kingdom. It is both a royal peculiar and the chapel of the Order of... the Garter. The chapel is governed by the Dean and Canons of Windsor. The chapel is located in the Lower Ward of the castle, which is one of the principal residences of Queen Elizabeth II. The day to day running of the chapel is the responsibility of the religious College of St George, which is directed by a chapter of the dean and four canons, assisted by a clerk, virger and other staffers. The Society of the Friends of St George's and Descendants of the Knights of the Garter, a registered charity, was established in 1931 to assist the College in maintaining the chapel. In 1348, King Edward III founded two new religious colleges: St Stephen's at Westminster and St George's at Windsor. The new college at Windsor was attached to the Chapel of St Edward the Confessor which had been constructed by Henry III in the early thirteenth century. The chapel was then rededicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, St Edward the Confessor and St George the Martyr. Edward III also built the Aerary Porch in 1353-1354.

Windsor Castle is a medieval castle and royal residence in Windsor in the English county of Berkshire, notable for its long association with the... British royal family and for its architecture. The original castle was built after the Norman invasion by William the Conqueror. Since the time of Henry I it has been used by a succession of monarchs and is the longest-occupied palace in Europe. The castle's lavish, early 19th-century State Apartments are architecturally significant, described by art historian Hugh Roberts as "a superb and unrivalled sequence of rooms widely regarded as the finest and most complete expression of later Georgian taste". The castle includes the 15th-century St George's Chapel, considered by historian John Robinson to be "one of the supreme achievements of English Perpendicular Gothic" design. More than five hundred people live and work in Windsor, making it the largest inhabited castle in the world. Originally designed to protect Norman dominance around the outskirts of London, and to oversee a strategically important part of the River Thames, Windsor Castle was built as a motte and bailey, with three wards surrounding a central mound.

Simon Williams was born in Windsor, Berkshire, in 1946 and his parents were the actor Hugh Williams and his wife Margaret Vyner. Simon Williams's brother is the poet Hugo Williams, and his sister Polly married his Don't Wait Up co-star and friend Nigel Havers. Williams was educated at two independent schools: at Cumnor House School in the suburban town of Croydon in South London, followed by Harrow School in Harrow on the Hill in the West London suburb of Harrow. Throughout his career, Simon Williams has appeared on stage in many productions, and has also directed a number of plays. He first appeared on television in 1967 in Man in a Suitcase, and in 1969 played the lead role in Slim John. He got his big break in 1971 when he made his first appearance as James Bellamy in the Upstairs, Downstairs episode "Board Wages".

Bastian was raised in Cookham and Maidenhead in Berkshire, and Marlow in Buckinghamshire. Bastion attended the Redroofs Theatre School at Maidenhead from the ages of 10 to 13, and started professional acting with a role in Jane Eyre aged 10. She then attended Claires Court school, the College, Maidenhead. Bastian joined the Channel4 soap in 2001. She was involved in a controversial storyline in Hollyoaks where her character was fired from her teaching job and sent to prison after having an affair with one of her students – Justin Burton played by Chris Fountain. In December 2005, alongside her Hollyoaks cast mates Jodi Albert and Sarah Jayne Dunn, Bastian appeared in an exercise video called Hollyoaks Get Fit.

Pettyfer was brought up in Windsor, and began his career as a child fashion model at the age of seven, for Gap, after meeting Ralph Lauren in a toy store in New York. Celina Hinchcliffe is a British television sports presenter. Celina married in May 2009 and gave birth to a son the following year. Her father,... Philip Hinchcliffe, was a British television producer. Hinchcliffe was educated at the independent Sir William Perkins's School in Chertsey, and gained a first class degree in English Literature and Drama from the University of Birmingham. Hinchcliffe initially worked with various theatre companies and travelled. Hinchcliffe got her first break in broadcasting in 2001 at BBC Southern Counties Radio, reporting on the likes of Crawley Town and Lewes. From there, she worked as a reporter on African Football for the BBC World Service, and then at BBC Radio 5 Live. In the summer of 2002, she joined BBC News and BBC World News as a sports presenter. In 2005, she fronted BBC Two's live coverage of England's matches in the women's European football championship. On 21 January 2006, she became the first woman to present BBC One's Saturday lunchtime show Football Focus. In 2006, she presented BBC Three's coverage of some England's qualifiers for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2007.

Caroline Munro is an English actress and model known for her many appearances in horror, science fiction and action films of the 1970s and 1980s.... I had a friend at the college who was studying photography and he needed somebody to photograph and he asked me. Unbeknownst to me, he sent the photographs to a big newspaper in London. The famous fashion photographer, David Bailey, was conducting a photo contest and my picture won. This led to modelling chores, her first job being for Vogue magazine at the age of 17. She moved to London to pursue top modelling jobs and became a major cover girl for fashion and TV advertisements while there. Decorative bit parts came her way in such films as Casino Royale and Where's Jack? .

Jenny Scott is an English journalist and economist. A native of Windsor, Berkshire, Jenny Scott had an adventurous childhood, travelling through... West Africa and Australia due to her father's career as an engineer. She studied at a convent before graduating with a degree in economics from King's College, Cambridge. She subsequently worked for two years as an economist at the Bank of England, before joining Reuters in 1994. She wrote primarily in her field of expertise on economic affairs, but also spent a year in Amsterdam as a general news correspondent. She then returned to London to write the book The Living Economy. After seven years with Reuters, Jenny Scott joined the BBC News team on the One, Six and Ten O'Clock News as their economics correspondent. She has also had a stint covering Wimbledon and co-presented The Weekend Business on Radio Five Live. Until 23 May 2008, she reported on economics, as well as co-presenting the afternoon BBC Two political magazine show The Daily Politics, alongside Andrew Neil. Sir Ranulph Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes, 3rd Baronet, OBE , better known as Ranulph Fiennes, is a British adventurer and holder of several endurance... records. He is also a prolific writer. Fiennes served in the British Army for eight years including a period on counter-insurgency service while attached to the army of the Sultanate of Oman. He later undertook numerous expeditions and was the first person to visit both the North and South Poles by surface means and the first to completely cross Antarctica on foot. In May 2009, at the age of 65, he climbed to the summit of Mount Everest. According to the Guinness Book of World Records he is the world's greatest living explorer. Fiennes has written numerous books about his army service and his expeditions as well as a book defending Robert Falcon Scott from modern revisionists. Fiennes was born on 7 March 1944 in Windsor, Berkshire shortly after the death of his father, Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Ranulph Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes, commanding the Royal Scots Greys, who died of wounds on 24 November 1943. Norman Lovett is an English stand-up comedian and actor, best known for the role of Holly in Red Dwarf during the first, second, seventh and eighth... series. Constance Collier was an English film actress and acting coach. Born Laura Constance Hardie, in Windsor, Berkshire to Cheetham Agaste Hardie and... Eliza Collier, Constance made her stage debut at the age of 3, when she played Fairy Peasblossom in A Midsummer's Night Dream. In 1893, at the age of 15, she joined the Gaiety Girls, the famous dance troupe based at the Gaiety Theatre in London. She was a very beautiful woman and soon became so tall that she towered over all the other dancers. In addition, she had an enormous personality and considerable determination. She naturally attracted considerable attention. On 27 December 1906, Beerbohm Tree's extravagant revival of Antony and Cleopatra opened at His Majesty's Theatre, with Tree as Mark Antony and Constance Collier as Cleopatra, a performance for which she received much critical praise. Famed for his realistic productions, Tree and his designer, Percy Macquoid, dressed Collier in a range of spectacular costumes. Later, Constance Collier commented: "There is only a mention in the play of Cleopatra appearing as the goddess Isis.
