Winter Haven

Chain of Lakes Park is a baseball field located in Winter Haven, Florida. The stadium was built in 1966 and holds 7,000 people. It was the spring... training home of the Boston Red Sox from 1966 to 1992, after which the Red Sox relocated operations to City of Palms Park in Fort Myers, Florida. In 1993, the Cleveland Indians moved into Chain of Lakes Park after their own stadium in Homestead was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew. The stadium served as the spring training home of the Indians until March 27, 2008, when their last game was played there. Cleveland moved their spring training operations to the new ballpark in Goodyear, Arizona in 2009. The long-term future of the ballpark and facility is in doubt as its location on Lake Lulu is becoming more valuable for commercial and residential development. In 2011, developers proposed building a shopping center on the site consisting of hotels, restaurants, shops, and a movie theater.

Ambrose Gaines IV is a former American swimmer, U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame member, Olympic three-time gold medalist, and member of the International... Swimming Hall of Fame. He is currently the chief fundraiser for USA Swimming as well as a swimming analyst for television networks ESPN and NBC including coverage of the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics, his fourth as a TV commentator. Born in Winter Haven, Florida, Rowdy unsuccessfully tried other sports during his teen-age years but turned to swimming as a Winter Haven High School junior where he improved quickly and was offered a swimming scholarship to Auburn University. At Auburn he became a five-time NCAA champion under the training of former Stanford University and Auburn head swimming coach Richard Quick. During one four-year period, Gaines held eleven World Records and, had the United States not boycotted the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, he would have been a favorite to win multiple medals at the event.

Gloria Hendry is an American actress. She is sometimes credited as "Gloria Henry." Hendry began her acting career in the 1968 Sidney Poitier film... For Love of Ivy. She is of Seminole, Chinese, Creek Indian, Irish and African descent. She is perhaps best known for portraying the Bond girl, Rosie Carver in the James Bond film Live and Let Die. In that film, she became the first African American woman to become romantically involved with 007. She is not, however, the first African-American Bond girl; that title went to Trina Parks. When the film was first released in South Africa, her love scenes with Roger Moore were cut out because it was prohibited by the Apartheid government. She later starred in several 1970s blaxploitation films, including the 1973 film Black Caesar and its sequel, the 1973 film Hell Up in Harlem. She also portrayed the martial arts expert, Sydney, in Black Belt Jones. Gloria has recently completed her memoir, entitled "Gloria". In it she discusses Bond, the films of the 70s, working as a Bunny at the famous Playboy Club in the 60s, modeling, singing and all the other amazing things that went on in her life.
