Michael Radford is an English film director and screenwriter. Radford was born on 24 February 1946, in New Delhi, India, to a British father and an... Austrian Jewish mother. He was educated at Bedford School before attending Worcester College, Oxford. After teaching for a few years, he went to the National Film and Television School, becoming a student there in its inaugural year. Between 1976 and 1982 Radford worked as a documentary film maker, mostly on projects for the BBC, covering subjects such as Scottish islanders on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides who believe in the literal truth of the Bible: The Last Stronghold of the Pure Gospel; the soprano Isobel Buchanan: La Belle Isobel; the singer songwriter Van Morrison: Van Morrison in Ireland; and the self-explanatory The Making of The Pirates of Penzance. On the last two of these Radford worked with the cinematographer Roger Deakins, who would later shoot two of Radford's feature films; 1984 and White Mischief.

Stephen Russell Davies, OBE , better known by his pen name Russell T Davies, is a Welsh television producer and screenwriter whose works include... Queer as Folk, Bob & Rose, The Second Coming, Casanova, and the 2005 revival of the classic British science fiction series Doctor Who. Born in Swansea, Davies aspired to work as a comic artist in his adult life, until a careers advisor at his school suggested that he study English literature; he consequently focused on a career of play- and screen-writing. After he graduated from Oxford University, Davies joined the BBC's children's department on a part-time basis in 1985 and worked in varying positions, including writing and producing two series, Dark Season and Century Falls. He left the BBC in the early 1990s to work for Granada Television and later became a freelance writer. Davies moved into writing adult television dramas in 1994.

Glyn Maxwell is a British poet and lecturer. Though his parents are Welsh, Maxwell was born and raised in Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire. He... studied English at Worcester College, Oxford. He began an MLitt there, but in 1987 moved to America to study poetry and drama with Derek Walcott at Boston University. He returned to the UK and began publishing poetry in the 1990s. His three earliest collections of poetry, Tale Of The Mayor's Son , Out of the Rain , Rest For The Wicked are collected as The Boys at Twilight: Poems 1990-1995 . The Breakage was shortlisted for both the T. S. Eliot and Forward Prizes. In 1994 he was named one of the New Generation poets and he received the E. M. Forster Award in 1997. His book Time's Fool is a narrative poem written in terza rima, and is now in development as a film. His most recent collections are The Nerve , The Sugar Mile and Hide Now, which was published in 2008 and shortlisted for both the T. S. Eliot Prize in 2008 and the Forward Prize in 2009. One Thousand Nights and Counting, a selection of his poetry, was published by Picador.

Richard George Adams is an English novelist who is best known as the author of Watership Down. He studied modern history at university before... serving in the British Army during World War II. He completed his studies after the war and joined the English Civil Service. In 1974, two years after Watership Down was published, Adams became a full-time author. He is now semi-retired. Adams was born on 9 May 1920 in Wash Common near Newbury, Berkshire, United Kingdom. He attended Horris Hill School from 1926–1933, and then Bradfield College from 1933–1938. In 1938, he went to Worcester College, Oxford to read Modern History. In July 1940, shortly after the declaration of war between the UK and Germany, Adams was called up to join the British Army. He served in the Middle East and India, but saw no action against either the Germans or the Japanese. After being released from the army in 1946, Adams returned to Worcester College to continue his studies for a further two years. He took the degrees of Bachelor of Arts in 1948 and Master of Arts in 1953.
