The Eastern Michigan University Convocation Center is a multi-purpose arena, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The facility is owned by Eastern Michigan... University. The event has hosted concerts, graduation ceremonies and athletic events. The facility was built in 1997. Construction began in the spring of 1997 and culminated with its grand opening, December 9, 1998, with a men's basketball game against the University of Michigan in front of a crowd of 7,647. Since its opening, it has served as home court for the Eagles' men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams. The EMU wrestling team has held several dual meets on the arena floor. It has also served as the site for two Mid-American Conference Championships. EMU hosted the 2000 MAC Gymnastics Championship and the 2002 MAC Wrestling Championship. It has been the host site for four first-round MAC Women's Basketball Tournament games, three first-round MAC Volleyball Tournament games and one first-round game for the men's basketball squad. Along with their commitment to EMU Athletics, it has hosted concerts. It is also the site for EMU's spring and winter commencement ceremonies.

Rynearson Stadium is a stadium in Ypsilanti, Michigan. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Eastern Michigan... University Eagles. It held its first game on September 27, 1969 when EMU upset the University of Akron, 10-3. Currently, the stadium has seating for 30,200 people. Standing room is available in the south end zone, allowing for crowds larger than the listed capacity; however, this has never been an issue, since the largest attendance for an EMU game at Rynearson was 26,188 , on November 28, 2008 for a 56-52 win over Central Michigan. The stadium is located on the school's west campus, just south of the Huron River. It originally consisted of two opposite sideline stands around the field and running track. It is one of only two stadiums in the MAC which shares its football field with a running track . In 1992, the seats were expanded south from each grandstand but not connected, giving the stadium the look of an unfinished horseshoe. This was done to conform to the new Division I-A rules for minimum stadium size.

Phyllis Diller is an American actress and comedian. She created a stage persona of a wild-haired, eccentrically dressed housewife who makes... self-deprecating jokes about her age and appearance, her terrible cooking, and a husband named "Fang", while pretending to smoke from a long cigarette holder. Diller's signature is her unusual laugh. Diller was born Phyllis Ada Driver in Lima, the daughter of Frances Ada and Perry Marcus Driver, an an insurance agent. She has German and Irish ancestry . Her mother was about twenty years younger than her father. Diller was raised a Methodist. Diller attended Lima's Central High School, then studied for three years at Sherwood Music Conservatory in Chicago, Illinois. She then transferred to Bluffton College in Bluffton, Ohio, where she met fellow "Lima-ite" and classmate Hugh Downs. Diller was a housewife, mother, and advertising copywriter. During World War II, Diller lived in Ypsilanti, Michigan, while her husband worked at the historic Willow Run Bomber Plant.

Andrew Fetterly Wilkes Krier , better known by his stagename Andrew W.K., is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, entertainer,... motivational speaker and music producer. He is the host of the television series Destroy Build Destroy. Andrew Wilkes-Krier was born in Stanford, California, and grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. At age 4, he began learning classical piano at The University of Michigan School of Music. He attended the private college preparatory Greenhills School for middle school before attending the alternative Community High School from 1993–1997, where he studied jazz keyboard. His father is Professor James E. Krier, a well-known legal scholar at the University of Michigan Law School and co-author of the widely used Dukeminier & Krier Property casebook. In 1993, when he was 14, Andrew joined the band Slam, later to be called Reverse Polarity. His first public recording, "Mr. Surprise", came out on a compilation released by the Westside Audio Laboratories label out of Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Bob Schneider is an Austin, Texas–based musician and artist. He currently resides in Bee Cave, Texas. Bob was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and... raised in Munich, Germany. The son of an opera singer, he moved with his parents to Germany when he was two. He learned guitar and piano at an early age and made his first live appearances performing at his parents' parties. He performed for years in various bands before embarking on a solo career. He dropped out of the University of Texas at El Paso where he studied art to front his first band, the funk-and-rap outfit Joe Rockhead. The band independently released three albums before disbanding immediately prior to signing with a major label. A stint with a jamming outfit called the Ugly Americans followed, which experienced some success as an opening act for the Dave Matthews Band and H.O.R.D.E. festival. In 1997, Schneider went on to co-found The Scabs, which later merged with the Ugly Americans. With The Scabs, Bob Schneider made a further name for himself as the front man. None of these bands gained much national recognition, but built solid reputations on the road.

As a musician, he has played with a number of groups... including The Rainbow Vomit Family Band, Pine Cones, Hot Meat for Young Lovers, Nausea Valley, Catch A Wave, Ever Will You Get There, Orgasmic Cookies, Video Games, Rainbow Island, Jimes, Actual Birds Mind Expansion Ensemble, Catfight of the Century, Suns of the Universe, Odd Clouds, This Must Be The Place , The Sonshine Band , Adapt Collective, Zombie Gutz, Endless Vibrations, Petroleum Bloodfang, Liquid Gods, The Melting Flux Collective, and The Aleise Barnett Good-Bye Band. He released several albums of music and his writings have been published in Display Magazine, Java Traveling, Gravity Presses, the Independent Media Center, Cloudrag, and the Ypsi Mix. Elkins' first novel, Ink on Dreams Of Transient Architecture, was published by Francis of Prussia in March 2007. Later that year he traveled to Indonesia, where he created a form of shadow puppetry known as "Wayang Kucing" .

Iggy Pop is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. Though considered an innovator of punk rock, Pop's music has encompassed a number... of styles over the years, including pop, metal, jazz and blues. Pop became known as 'Iggy' in high school, during which time he served as drummer for local blues band The Iguanas. He is vocalist of influential protopunk band The Stooges , having become known, since the late 1960s, for his outrageous and unpredictable stage antics. Though the singer's popularity has waned and waxed throughout his career, Pop has recorded a number of well-known songs, including "Lust for Life", "Real Wild Child", "I Wanna Be Your Dog," "Candy" , "China Girl", "Nightclubbing", "Search and Destroy", and "The Passenger". Iggy Pop was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the son of Louella and James Newell Osterberg, Sr., a former high school English teacher and baseball coach at Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan.

Venida Evans is an American television, film, stage and commercial actress. Evans is perhaps best known to audiences for her role as "The Muse" in a... series of IKEA television commercials in the United States beginning in 2008. Evans was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, but raised in Detroit. Her father , was 97 years old as of April 2009, while her mother is deceased. Evans graduated from Southwestern High School in Detroit. She later attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. Evans also served as an enlisted member of the United States Air Force. Evans moved from her native Detroit to New York City in 1972 to pursue her acting career. She took a job as a theater usher on Broadway as a "survival job" to pay her bills while she simultaneously pursued acting jobs. Evans continued ushering until 1999, when she began acting full time. In a 2009 interview with The Detroit News, Evans stated that she would still return to her past job if her acting career ever stalled saying, "I still know how to say 'Five rows up and six seats over.
