Arthur Honegger was a Swiss composer, who was born in France and lived a large part of his life in Paris. He was a member of Les six. His most... frequently performed work is probably the orchestral work Pacific 231, which is interpreted as imitating the sound of a steam locomotive. Born Oscar-Arthur Honegger in Le Havre, France, he initially studied harmony and violin in Paris, and after a brief period in Zurich, returned there to study with Charles-Marie Widor and Vincent d'Indy. He continued to study through the 1910s, before writing the ballet Le dit des jeux du monde in 1918, generally considered to be his first characteristic work. In 1926 he married Andrée Vaurabourg, a pianist and fellow student at the Paris Conservatoire, on the condition that they live in separate apartments. They lived apart for the duration of their marriage, with the exceptions of an attempt at living together in 1935, which lasted less than a year, and the last year of Honegger's life, when he could no longer live alone. They had one daughter, Pascale, born in 1932.

Alexander "Al" Dubin was an American lyricist. He became known through his collaborations with the composer Harry Warren. Al Dubin came from a... Russian Jewish family which immigrated to the USA from Switzerland when he was two years old. He grew up in Philadelphia. There he worked as a songwriter and lyricist for various Tin Pan Alley music companies. He served in the First World War. Dubin was responsible for lyrics to several Broadway shows. In 1970 he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He is perhaps most famous for the 1933 musical film 42nd Street to the music of Harry Warren. Other famous movies included Footlight Parade and all five Gold Diggers films. Together, Warren and Dubin wrote 60 hit songs for Warner Brothers. In 1980 producer David Merrick and director Gower Champion adapted 42nd Street into a Broadway musical that won The Tony Award for Best Musical for 1981. On his passing in 1945, Al Dubin was interred in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California.

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, M.D. was a Swiss American psychiatrist, a pioneer in Near-death studies and the author of the groundbreaking book On... Death and Dying , where she first discussed what is now known as the Kübler-Ross model. She is a 2007 inductee into the American National Women's Hall of Fame. She was the recipient of twenty honorary degrees and by July 1982 had taught, in her estimation, 125,000 students in death and dying courses in colleges, seminaries, medical schools, hospitals, and social-work institutions. In 1970, she delivered the The Ingersoll Lectures on Human Immortality at Harvard University, on the theme, On Death and Dying. Elisabeth Kübler was born on July 8, 1926 in Zürich, Switzerland, one of triplets. Elisabeth was born fifteen minutes before her identical sister, Erika. Minutes later came her sister, Eva. Her family were Protestant Christians. Her father did not want her to study medicine, but she persisted. Eventually her father took pride in her career. In an interview she stated: In Switzerland I was educated in line with the basic premise: work work work. You are only a valuable human being if you work.

Jojo Mayer is a highly acclaimed Swiss drummer born in Zurich and currently resides in New York City. Mayer is the son of a touring musician and... began his career as a drummer at an early age, receiving his first drum set at the age of two. Having taught himself throughout his childhood, he broke out into the professional music scene at the age of 18, joining the Monty Alexander group. Touring with the group launched him into the major jazz music scene, and he has played at the North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreux, Nice, and Athens etc., which culminated with his gigging with jazz-greats such as Dizzy Gillespie and Nina Simone. Eventually, after playing with a great variety of artists, Mayer moved away from jazz and into Drum 'n' Bass. Jojo Mayer is known for bringing together jazz, drum and bass, jungle, and other influences. He is also famous for his ability to play the rhythms of programmed jungle drum 'n' bass music on acoustic drums, terming this technique "reverse engineering", a phrase borrowed from computing.

Sandra Hess is an actress best known for her role as Sonya Blade in the film Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Hess began modeling and working on... television commercials when she was 15. After completing high school, she entered the University of Zurich to study law but before completing her degree she came to the United States to build an acting career. Once settled in Los Angeles, Hess started taking acting classes. Her first role was in the 1992 film Encino Man, playing a cave-woman to Brendan Fraser's caveman character. In 1997, she played the role of Sonya Blade in the film Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, taking over the role played by Bridgette Wilson in the first film. In 1998, she portrayed Immortal bounty hunter Reagan Cole, a friend of Duncan MacLeod's, in an episode of Highlander. She also portrayed Viper in the TV movie Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Alexandra "Ice" Jensen in Pensacola: Wings of Gold. Her guest spots include the series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Sliders , SeaQuest DSV and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In 2008, Hess starred as Sasha in General Hospital.
